Conclusion

I guess my hypothesis was proved wrong in this project. For whatever reason, the apple did not go bad after 21 days, but the applesauce got fermented and went really bad. So my conclusion to this experiment is: "Natural foods can last longer than processed foods."

Final Day-October 2, 2012

This is the pic from the last day.
As my photo documentary has come to an end, here is the last picture. The applesauce is fermented, smelly, and nasty. The apple is absolutely fine, and I will probably eat it.

Day 20-October 1, 2012

This is the second to last day and the applesauce is looking super nasty, but the apple is still fine.

Day 19-September 30, 2012

The sauce is super duper nasty, and the apple is fine.

Day 18-September 29, 2012

This is a close up pic from day 18. The apple looks so perfect and the applesauce looks nasty.

Day 17-September 28, 2012

The applesauce is so nasty. The apple is fine.

Day 16-September 27, 2012

The applesauce is super gross, and it just gets more gross. The apple is absolutely fine.

Day 15-September 26, 2012

The applesauce is so gross and fermented now. I hate having to get it out. The apple is fine.

Day 14-September 25, 2012

This is from Day 14.
The applesauce is super nasty and I hate the smell. The apple is fine.

Day 13-September 24, 2012

This pic is from day 13.
The applesauce is nasty and fermented and the apple appears fine still.

Day 12-September 23, 2012

The applesauce is now pretty much fermented. The apple is fine.

Day 11-September 22, 2012

Today I smelled the applesauce and I almost threw up. The apple seems fine, still.

Day 10: September 21, 2012

This is the day 10 picture.
The applesauce is really nasty now, but the apple seems fine. It may be gross inside, but right now, it looks good.

Day 9-September 20, 2012

This is from day 9.
The apple is still fine, and it really isn't that soft or mushy; it's pretty hard. The applesauce is still nasty, though.

Day 8-September 19, 2012

This picture is from day eight of my photo documentary.
The apple is looking alright still, but the sauce looks really gross (would you want to eat that?).

Day 7-September 18, 2012

This is what the foods looked like after a week.
The applesauce is really looking gross and the apple is getting softer but still looks fine.

Day 6-September 17, 2012

This is the pic for day six.
The apple is feeling a little mushy today, and the applesauce looks better than it did without the lid on.

Day 5-September 16, 2012

The lid has now been put on the applesauce, so it looks a little better. The apple still appears to be fine.

Day 4-September 15, 2012

The applesauce still looks mushy and a little nasty, but the apple is fine at this point.

Day 3-September 14, 2012

This is the day three pic.
The apple is fine, but the sauce looks a little gross because I haven't put a lid on it yet (but I will eventually).

Day 2-September 13, 2012

This is my day 2 pic.
The food hasn't changed much since yesterday. It still looks the same, but the applesauce got a little air.

Day 1-September 12, 2012

This is my picture from day one.
The food looks perfect on day one. The applesauce was just poured, and the apple is fresh out of the refrigerator. The food isn't rotten in any way.

Intro

Hi my name is Isaiah Pack and I am doing a 21 day photo documentary with apples and applesauce. I have an apple and and a small bowl of applesauce. One is natural and one is processed. I ask a question, make a hypothesis, take a picture and record what I see for 21 days, analyze the results, then evaluate the hypothesis.
So the first thing is ask a question. My question is, "Which of these foods will go bad first?". After some research, I have determined that natural foods rot quicker than processed foods, so my hypothesis is, "The apple will go bad before the applesauce." This concludes my intro, so I will go on to day one of my project.
